A photo mosaic of the National Trust’s Stourhead lake and garden in autumn made from photographs of gardens from around the British Isles.
Stourhead is one of the most famous landscape gardens in the British Isles. With historic buildings around a central lake it s a popular destination for a day out. Its autumn scenes have few parallels.
The Stourhead garden was made by a wealthy English banker, Henry Hoare II, who had been buying works of art in Italy at the time he inherited the Stourhead estate. It was made during the second half of the 18th century and is at the heart of a 2650 acre estate.
