A photo mosaic Lady Bower reservoir seen from the southern end of Derwent Edge made from photographs of gardens from around the British Isles.

The Upper Derwent Valley is home to a system of 3 reservoirs, with Lady Bower to the south followed by Derwent and Howden Reservoirs to the north. Green fertile valleys, give way to wild moor land on the hills featuring dramatic rock outcrops along Derwent Edge.

With a visitor centre and a wide variety of walking opportunities, Lady Bower has become a tourist and outdoor attraction. Water from the reservior is treated in Bamford and then flows by aquaduct to a covered service reservoir in Ambergate from where it supplies major towns in the East Midlands.
